Before careening over Niagara Falls in a barrel, (a right of passage for anyone growing up in Buffalo, NY), I procured my first box of Crayola® crayons. And although I couldn't remember much else following that bumpy trip over the Falls, I never forgot those crayons and how I fancied scribbling with them. (I also unfortunately could never forget how super fat ties and shag hairdos had been fashionable at one time either).
Eventually, I got an even bigger box of crayons, a fancy hat, a jumbo brick of Velveeta® cheese product, and moved to New York City to study at Parsons School of Design. I earned a BFA in Illustration as well as a meritorious citation for being the student mugged the most amount of times while still managing to make it to figure drawing class on time.
I spent a few more years in The Big Apple trying to get out of an elevator, until I escaped and bushwhacked my way up to Rochester, NY. And I've never looked back, except when trying to parallel park. Perhaps that's because I've found such a vibrant creative community—Anderson Alley Artists, RoCo, Memorial Art Gallery, Writers & Books, RIT, and Visual Studies Workshop, just to name but a few.
Let's talk about your next cool design assignment...well, unless the job involves live snakes, passive-aggressive behavior, or going over the Falls in a barrel. Otherwise, I'd be happy to meet with you for a consultation.
